Automation

Fundamentals of Automation and AI Agent Creation in Zapier

This training teaches practical process automation in Zapier, from simple tasks to more complex workflows – all without programming.

Who it's for

Ideal for teams that…

1 Professionals looking to automate repetitive tasks
2 Managers and coordinators
3 Entrepreneurs and business owners
4 Sales and marketing specialists
5 Professionals responsible for CRM data quality
6 Customer service teams and account managers who want faster response times
7 Business analysts and process improvement specialists
Outcomes after the program

Cloud, automation and CI/CD in practice — hands-on for engineering teams.

Build automations from scratch: from simple tasks to multi-step processes with dependencies

Connect tools and organize data: preparing data for further actions (text and number cleaning, date handling, setting triggers, delays and scheduling, content translation)

Design process logic and branching: creating different workflow paths based on conditions and deciding when to split processes into separate branches

Integrate “non-native” systems: connecting tools not listed in Zapier integrations and extracting structured data from emails for further use

Troubleshoot and fix issues: identifying common error causes, testing workflows, and improving stability and predictability

Requirements

What you should know before we start

  • Comfortable using a web browser
  • Zapier account (created during the workshop)
  • Basic knowledge of Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
  • Accounts for applications used during the workshops – Google, Slack, Trello (created before or during the workshops). Familiarity with these tools, aside from Google Sheets, is not required
Program · 5 modules

What we actually do

Day 1 – Zapier Basics and Automation Building

M01
Module 1: Introduction to Zapier and Automation Logic
  • · What Zapier is and how it can be used in business (automating repetitive tasks)
  • · Key concepts: trigger, action, step, input/output data
  • · Creating an account and setting up the work environment
  • · First automations: from simple flows to more advanced scenarios
M02
Module 2: Key Built-in Tools in Zapier (Practical Workflows)
  • · Queuing automations and adding delays in workflows
  • · Conditional filtering – when a process should run and when it should not
  • · Simple content processing and translations in automations
  • · Data formatting: text, numbers, dates, and other types before further use
  • · Chrome extension to accelerate automation building
  • · Hands-on examples
M03
Module 3: Advanced Zapier Mechanisms and Multi-Source Data Handling
  • · Branching process logic (different workflow paths based on conditions)
  • · Using emails as a data source: extracting information and converting it into structured fields
  • · Lead scoring and prioritization (simple evaluation model and automated actions)
  • · Technical integrations: using webhooks to connect additional tools and transfer data
  • · Troubleshooting and repairing automations: common errors, testing, and stabilizing workflows
  • · Hands-on examples

Day 2 – Project Implementation

M04
Module 4: Zapier Use Cases – Projects
  • · Project: Automating email workflows and creating a “command center” for tasks and communication
  • · Project: Social media automation – preparing, scheduling, and publishing content
  • · Project: Creating an AI chatbot for customer service on Facebook
  • · Project: Lead generation and segmentation – collecting data, qualification, and triggering further actions
  • · Project: Autoresponder – incoming emails are analyzed by AI, which generates a ready-to-send response draft
M05
Module 5: Closing Session
  • · Best practices in automation design (clarity, error resistance, maintainability)
  • · Further development paths: scaling processes and standardizing automation across the organization
  • · Questions & Answers (Q&A)
Every module is adapted to your stack and context. The above is a starting point — not a fixed agenda.
